Over the last four weeks the school football team has been participating in the Ards Peninsula 7s League. The tournament took place over four Thursdays and involved 12 different school teams. After the first 3 weeks of fixtures our school team qualified for the semi-finals, only losing one match out of the first 3 weeks. The semi-finals and final took place today, with the school beating St. Mary's Kircubbin in a nail-biting (for parents and Mr Ferguson) penalty shoot-out, before progressing to the final where they beat Portavogie P.S. 1-0 thanks to a goal from Nathan Quinn. The team had put a lot of effort in to this tournament over the last month and enjoyed their celebrations with the trophy and medals after the match.
With such a young team, 8 of which will be playing again next year, who knows what success they may have in the future?
