On Sunday 6th May the school football club went on a trip to Manchester for the day.
After an early start and flight the pupils arrived in Liverpool at 9am before making the short journey by coach to Manchester. The first stop was the Manchester United Museum at Old Trafford where the pupils got to see Old Trafford, the trophy room, kits from past and present years and lots of other interesting artefacts. Some of these artefacts included one of Ronaldo’s football tops and a pair of George Best’s boots. Before leaving, the pupils had the opportunity to get their photo taken while signing for Manchester United.
After the museum it was back on the coach for the short journey across the city to the Eithad Stadium, home of Manchester City. The pupils visited the City Club Shop, had lunch and made their way into the ground with some inflatable toys and flags that were handed out at the ground. The match against Huddersfield had plenty of attacking play and the pupils had the opportunity to sample the atmosphere in a ground sold out with over 55,000 people in attendance. After the game the Premier League trophy presentation took place.
Following the presentation, it was back on the coach and back to Liverpool for the flight home. After arriving back in Belfast after a great day away there were lots of tired pupils!
