Today in school we celebrated World Book Day. As part of our celebrations, many of the pupils (and teachers!) dressed up as their favourite book characters. This made for some interesting looking class lines in the morning. In each class there was a special Easter Egg prize for the 1st and 2nd best costumes and all pupils in the school got a small prize too.
Here is a picture of all our costume competition winners and some funny looking teachers.
Throughout the day, in each of the classes, book related activities were completed, from designing book covers to hearing top writing tips from famous authors through the World Book Day author interviews.
After lunch, Primary 6 and Primary 7 pupils read stories to the Primary 1 and Primary 2 pupils. The Primary 1 and Primary 2 pupils picked a book that they would like to be read by some of the older pupils in our school. This was a very enjoyable and worthwhile activity for all pupils involved. There are a lot of great storytellers in Primary 6 and Primary 7!
