Principal's Welcome
Hola!
Thank you for taking the time to look at our school website. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Roger Irvine and I am delighted, honoured and humbled to be principal of Kircubbin Integrated Primary School. I fully subscribe to the core principles of integrated education (equality, faith and values, parental involvement and social responsibility) and I believe this to be the best way forward for all of our children as we in ‘our wee country’ continue to learn from the mistakes of our past in a new era of peace and inclusion.
At KIPS we have high standards of achievement from our pupils and through a continual process of self evaluation we aim to maintain and indeed improve on these standards. I believe that teaching is futile unless our children feel safe, secure and loved. A happy child is a receptive child, one who can reach their full potential and become a responsible future citizen. I am therefore delighted to be able to serve a very committed, professional and friendly team of staff and governors who work tirelessly for the benefit of all in their care.

It is crucial that we prepare our children for the future. To this end, I fully support a holistic approach to learning where children get as many varied opportunities as possible to discover more about themselves and where their skills, talents and interests lie. Consequently, I am thrilled that we can offer our pupils such a broad and balanced curriculum that includes the provision of iPads on a ‘one-to-one’ basis, the teaching of Spanish from P2-P7, an extensive Health and Well Being programme, as well as a host of extra curricular activities including my own favourite pastimes of sport and music.
In navigating through this website, you will find out about some of the many activities we have on offer and I would also encourage you to watch our short promotional video situated on our homepage. However, this can only give you a little flavour of 'KIPS' life. If you would like to find out more about us and what we offer, I would be delighted to meet with you and show you around our excellent facilities.
